Looking to paint my new Dean myself. Show me what you have done at home with a spray bomb.

This is my Duplicolor spray bomb job with some wet sanding between coats and topped with Duplicolor heavy duty clear coat made for wheels.
I came back to this thread to add some before pics and thank pick for the compliment.

Built this one a few years back for my son. Corvette Cyber Gray Metallic. Topped with clear coat, wet sanded between coats. Turned out pretty nice but not as sweet as "late for dinner's" bike above.

I have done a few in the last few months

Another little trick I happened on is if you have old dull BMX aluminum pedals hit them with some clear gloss and the pop again. The ones on the copper bike are years old yet look great with a little clear.

This paint is Rustoleum Hammertone Copper with Gloss clear and looks a different color in every picture I take.

LS your cruisers came out nice coming from spray bombs.!!!
I work for a body shop supply store in Chula Vista and we make custom colors and put them in spray cans to match whatever the customer wants.. I'm also the color matcher there too.. I'm planning to spray bomb my Jamis Earth Cruiser to match for the restoration..

Another thing I do is wipe down the paint with a micro-fiber rag to flatten it out before clearing it. Works as well as wet sanding. I used to own a cheap spray rig and painted one of my Harleys a few years ago. Used ColorRite paint.

What did you have to do to prep that frame? Was it blasted? Love the color. That turned out great.

All of my bicycles have rattle can paint jobs. Here's an example of what happens when you can't decide what color to use.

This is the second time around for this ol girl.She's a columbia Torpedo rat rattlecanned in candy red and yellow and outfitted with a Big Mo 64 teeth sprocket chainring and Bendix 2 speed kickback hub.Bike features a JC Higgins springer fork and Evans Colson curved longboy rack.She's very fast and smooth for an old pony!!Should be railtrail burning in a couple weeks!
