My 1991 Plymouth Sundance and my newly acquired 2002 Pontiac Sunfire I just bought this morning. "I am a connoisseur of beaters."

My latest regret...needs front suspension redone, whitewalls, windows rarely work, doesn’t lock, rear windscreen Is separating & leaks, hood hinges busted, some random oil leak but somehow still gets 30mpg on renewable diesel fuel. Would still choose it any day of the week over the newer TakataCorolla I was in as it got totaled by a jerk on his phone when the freeway stopped.

Sidetrack warning..........

A good chunk of my well spent youth and early 20's in Wisconsin was spent ice racing. 2 wheels and 4. I still have the scars on my hands from setting 10's of thousands of screws over the years

Throwback to days past

That's Awesome! I have a vintage champion chassis flat tracker with a '74 yz250 I wanted to race in arhma and ice race, but never got around to it. Besides a few hare scrambles, I got into competition trials and really enjoyed it.

Just got this 02 Durango today.

Traded the Sunfire and $150 for it.
It is the SLT plus trim package so has all the goodies, alarm, lock and unlock key fob, 3rd row seat, all leather, power everything, 4wd, and it has enough room to fit many many bikes in the back.

C'est tres cool! I was hitch hiking once in the 1980s and got a ride from a guy who had turned a hatchback Chevy Nova into a similar kind of camper. Just one bucket seat for the driver, everything else decked over with storage underneath and a tent that hung from the hatch. I'm still impressed.

@outskirtscustoms you're a conaseur of beaters, have a peek at my first car, 93 Asuna SE, made for Pontiac in Korea. It was sooooo bad in every way. Braking on any decline was a fingers crossed affair, you could hear the dash board trying to separate itself from the chassis under spirited corners. I got it for free, drove it for a while, and struggled to give it away. I don't miss it whatsoever.

I have a 2016 in the same color. It's got 16x,xxx miles on it now (less driving this year). About as reliable as a Corolla. I'd buy another when this wears out, but Ford decided to replace it with the lame Ecosport based on a cheaper platform, is inferior in every way (even interior space), and costs more.

I feel it! It was a week after I got mine that they announced they weren’t gonna make them anymore. Values increased so I rarely ever drive it lol. When my wife and I take long trips we usually use it because fuel economy is really good if I stay out of the high revs. It’s funny, she tasked me with “finding a new car with 4 doors” so we can take the kids to school, so I picked this lol
