sissy bar for fat butts?

Someone else will know more but provided the load is straight on them and there are no bends they should support far more than you could put on it. That is in a perfect world though... If you lean off the sides while riding they may just bend sideways quite easily.
I will be building a sissy bar for my "Muscle Bike Build Off" bike soon, going to give it some cross bracing to avoid that happening... It has to support all 220 pounds of me...

I don,t see why not I ride my sons Eliminator all the time an I'm 240lb it hasn't bent under the pressure now I'm not jumping ditches or anything just normal riding

There's an endorsement right there.

If you are worried about it, you could find a piece of pipe or rod that fits inside the sissy bar and push it up into the bar up to the bend, then drill through that for the mounting bolts.
 
Pick up some aluminum or even wooden crutches at a yard sale.
 
If you want a really tall bar, then get yourself a couple of snow skis for a sissy bar.

I'm looking for a taller or longer one,I want one that is longer between the bottom clamps and the seat grommets.Anybody?
