Cool bike. I really like the front wheel/tire combo. You sure you want to paint it?

LOL
I swapped it out for a flame this morning.
I do like the ratty whitewall look.
But in ten feet you could feel how much nicer
of a tire the flame is.

Not sure if I will paint it maybe just get all the
old paint off.

Re: Skipton's Gallery and Random Photos 12-17 UPDATE

Looks like you've had quite a few versions of your Monark
Kinda like the latest best (didn't remember you put Hipster bars on it  )
I bet putting that semi slick in the front helped your speed

The latest version reminds me of my Typhoon a year ago
I had it this way for 1/2 a day then I couldn't handle the pretzel position (that you do so well  )

Maybe the handle bar setup didn't work well but the long solid aluminum seat post worked really well

Looking forward to see how your change it up next...

Had a great ride into work 46 degrees really heavy rain all night,
But by the time I got on the bike around 8:45am the rain had stopped

10-15mph south east wind (headwind  ) and unusual.

Return trip at 6:30pm, 36 degrees 15 mph north west wind
( also head wind  :? ) snowing and raining
I was dressed for it. But after all the heavy rain all day there was so much standing water.
That my feet were very wet.

It's rough when you have headwinds both ways...
Great pictures. Those are some big waves

Steve,
They were talking about 1- 700 inches   of snow for Thursday.
We got lots of heavy rain.... Was snowing hard on my ride home did get any pics
My feet got real cold from splashing through all the standing water

But it was 34 or so degrees so it didn't stick. Got a total of less then a half inch.

Big shout out to Mplscoaster for the studded tires!

May look like overkill with less then two inches of snow on the ground
But with temps hovering in the low 30s you never know when you will hit the icy patch
.

Your Bike looks so tough!! 8)
Glad your getting some use out of them, especially the way you commute through winter

Re: Skipton's Gallery and Random Photos

Those are some cool shadow and a city shots!
Forgot how you had setup the front rack and twin lights 8)
How is the traction? Speed is probably faster than the studs

Re: Skipton's Gallery and Random Photos

Steve,
This is the slowest bike I have.
My knees hit my chin the Firestone tires are not the best rolling
And the stock Monark chain ring is to big (52) for a guy hitting his chin with his knees
But I love the bike!
