Spacing a front sprocket

Is it possible to put washers behind a front chain ring to bump it out a little? I have an idea for The Gooch but don't want to break it all down this close to the deadline if it won't work.I need to gain a couple of 1/8th between the front sprocket and frame.Thanks for any help. :mrgreen:

should work as long as it doesnt throw the chainline out of whack with the rear sprocket...what about flipping the front sprocket?(if its "offset")

That one was fine.Went a little bigger :shock: .Got it worked out.I'll be posting build pics as soon as I can find my spare camera.
