I purchased a set of BMX hubs to build a set of wheels. The j bend on the spokes I have is too short. What do I need to look for as far as the j bend goes for these hubs?

I have standard J bend spokes that have worked on all other hubs. this hub has a thicker flanges then the ones I have used before.

By standard do you mean for BMX/mountain bikes?

Yes. The description doesn’t mention anything about needing special spokes. Maybe someone else has ran into your issue. Maybe a picture would help. Sometimes I use a hammer and a punch to set the heads of the spoke firmly. But I do this after the wheel is laced and tensioned.

I have seen the tapping of spokes to get them to sit correctly before but these seemed way to off. I will post a pic of my issue in a little bit.

I can cut and thread spokes for you.

I went with @twojs.bike advice and manhandled the spokes, they were less of an issue then I had previously thought. Now I just need an hour or so of uninterrupted concentration. Something I often do not get with 2 kids, 2 dogs and life always taking precedent.
