Love those wheels, any idea who made them?
They were made by a builder down in Mexico City, Mexico (francbikes on Instagram). I don't know how they ended up stateside.

To me the existing patina-ed red and yellow really looks the part of old time road construction equipment as is.
Awesome, creative fixHere is an intermission from the Kingfish Kitchen.

I like the Ruff seat, don't like those particular springs. Maybe a clothespin style spring? Or a single center mount spring or bladder?
Or get funky with a leaf spring! Make her float

Tape measure is a creative touch there...always count on you to measure up with your builds.
Lol the parts you take off the thing are enough to build a Winner!
That is one expense seat clamp to replace . I’d get that one welded even if you decide not to use it on this build .I forgot to post this up from yesterday. As you probably noticed, these Elgin Twin Bars don't have a seat tube. Instead they use a special clamp that can actually be slid forward or backward a little to hold a seatpost. The one I had for VerBoten actually bent on one of the first rides after I painted it and had the longspring saddle on it. Yesterday I did some beating on it to get it back in position for mockups. To actually ride on this again, I will need to have my friend weld it up a bit to strengthen it. My seating may go another direction, so I may not even use this. We'll see.

And the mockups keep on coming!!!!
After sitting on one of the seat mockups, I realized I really need to make sure I can actually pedal this baby without hitting my chin with my knee. So, I place a crank and chainring in there to give some feel for where the pedals would be. I need the seat to be higher and/or farther back. Gotta find that balance between looking good and riding good.
So I broke out some pedals to stack and jack the seat up a little and then further back too.
