I picked this one up on Sunday morning. Was on my way out of the house when I got a hold of the seller. Went straight to his house instead of running the errands.
Looks to be a repro 26" Schwinn. Needs some work on both fenders and the rear hub rebuilt. Also missing the horn assembly from the tank. Not sure if the Schwinn Typhoon Cord tire in the back is original. Took it for a quick spin after I got and it needs a tune-up.
I added the old Marx Toy plastic bicycle engine to see what it would look like.
Can anyone help me decode the serial number???
There's a ton of bondo on the fenders. Will likely have the guys at my friend's body shop touch up the front fender for now.
Always wanted a tanked Schwinn and now I got one. Plan is to tune it up, fix the rear hub, clean it up a bit, maybe change out to some new whitewalls and ride it.
