Hello, All.
I would rather see this with someone from this group.
I need a geared, upright commuter bike that I can add some saddles to for my 5-mile ride to/from work. I'm open to ideas.

I have had the Dyno for about 11 years. Great bike but not for commuting. Most of you already know most of this so skip over those parts.

OLD Dyno was a division of Schwinn high quality bikes.
These have been discontinued for years. I think this one is probably 23-25 years old. It has the D on the frame underneath the seat, indicating that its at least pre-1999
Collectable and very fantastic for cruising. I have only replaced the bottom bracket, I think everything else is original.
I have owned and maintained this bike for about 11 years. I had the bottom bracket replaced a few years ago by a local bike shop.
This has the factory thumb 4 speed shifter, shifting a Shimano Inter4 Internally Shifting 4 speed Roller brake Hub BR-IM50-R.
I believe the first-year bikes had the matching size front and rear tires, which this one has.
The Fireball Dyno Tire flamed tires are off the bike, I have been using Electra street tires to preserve the original ones.
Twin chrome front forks.
Frame Size: Adult Size
Brand: Dyno
Wheel Size: 26″ Front and Rear
Model: Moto Glide
Color: Metallic Dark Purple w/ Silver Flames
Frame Material: Steel
Wheelbase: 48 1/4 inches
Seat Tube Length: 18 1/2 inches
Stand Over Height: 30 Inches
Front Hub: Shimano BR-IM50 Roller Brake
Rear Hub: Shimano Nexus INTER4 4speed internal shifting BR-IM50-R Nexave Roller Brake
Ararya Aluminum Rims that polish up to a chrome finish, never rust.

I also would suggest two bikes. My wife even agrees to two bikes. But be wary, it gets out of hand, they tend to multiply. I agree with the stuff Wildcat is showing you, for me, that Trek is the best choice if it fits. A decent all terrain bike or "hybrid" by a mountain bike company would make a great commuter. And I would hesitate to sell that dyno unless you absolutely must have only one bike, that's a good bike and your words betray your fondness for it.

I have a trader. Haven't rode it in over a year. Built for no maintenance rain or shine rides, full lights for the nights. 3 speed coaster insures none of the pesky cable rust up and bullet proof shifting. I am 5'10" and it fits.
1999 GT Zaskar frame, 700 x 28c.
Let me know if interested or just price the Dyno!

That's a funny little exchange right there...
OLD Dyno was a division of Schwinn high quality bikes.
That's not accurate, at the time your dyno was made, they were owned by GT, as evidenced by that sweet GT piston stem. That Zaskar being offered in exchange is the top of the line, most desirable mountain bike that gt made, outside of the titanium Xizang. I couldn't tell you it's value with all of the mods, but thought it was neat to see these great examples of what GT was doing at their peak.

That’s sound advice except for the 2 roadies, Kona hard tail, GT, wife’s cruiser…garage addition?
why not? $250 for another bike and $15,000 for a garage addition. Good links, thank you. That trek could work just fine with a few add-ons. Looks to be in good condition. Escondido here I come.

Thanks for the correction in my write-up on the company ownership change. Trying to figure out out to get one more bike in the garage but it’s not looking good. It would be sort of cool to have the two GT bikes.
