Tandem to single rider conversions

Thinking about picking up a Twin Schwinn and trying to convert it to a burrito, or something along those lines. Anyone got a link to a build on here like that? I know their on here but I'm not having any luck using the search terms I can think of.

hmmm. I have an old huffy im wondering what I want to do with it. its actually pretty nice, id almost hate to take it apart but im not sure anyone else would want it.

I've had the thought of getting one to make a stretch bike out of but tandems seem to sell for $150 (cheap end) to $500+ so hasn't happened.

Picking the bike up tomorrow. For $25 you can't go wrong. Needs a rear wheel but the rest of it is there.

I like a lot of the parts on the one I have. the wheels are cool, they must have 12g spokes.

That western flyer frame is probably the coolest frame out there to work with. I can't look at one without seeing 15 other bikes inside

Is it bad that last pic makes me want to build a regular bike but attach an extra long tandem chain guard and leave the extra hanging out the back.

I think these were really built to be stretch cruisers. That frame just flows tight into that style.

Not really sure what it is though. I have a lot of miss matched parts here. Including an entire Schwinn razor type front end

I traded "yes honey" for this frame. A 20" Rollfast. It was one of the most comfortable bikes I ever rode.

It was then traded to member Peterbuilt and eventually converted back, for his daughters.

I miss that little bike, mine was complete but my girls were ready to kill each other every time they rode it. They did not make very many of them

If I was going to build a tandem from two bikes, I would definitely try to use rear steering. Just seems like it would be a lot of fun riding solo from the back.
