I had this nice aluminum Araya 27 x 1 1/4 rim that had a nasty 5 speed freewheel hub on it. I had a brand new coaster brake hub, some stainless steel spokes and brand new nipples, so I laced it all up. I think it turned out to be a pretty nice wheel.

Now I just need to figure out a frame to put it on... :|

I decided to go with a Giant Schwinn Varsity frame. I am not short, but this thing will be a stretch for me to ride. I have included a pic with a standard Schwinn typhoon frame to show how tall it is. And keep in mind the Varsity doesn't have any tires yet.

 Those wheels do look cool on there! Do you have a skinny 26" wheel for the front? Might look cool and add a little rake.

Well, with multiple projects going on and little time, I sold this one as is to somebody with a similar vision for it. He plans on coming to our ride on May 1st. His goal is to get it looking kinda like an old wright bros cycle. It sounds like it will be pretty cool. He plans on going with skinny white tires.

How tall are you exactly? I know that's a wierd question, but sadly I was made only to reach a height of 5' 6" seemingly and I have this awful tall frame fettish. I love these tall varisty frames but am afraid that trying to ride one will be quite a failure in my case...

crank dragger!

At 6'3", that varsity should be just about right.. what is it, a 25" frame with 26" mountain wheels? (or, 62cm with ISO 559 wheels?) ? That'd look righteous with a set of 2" tires and looong chrome fenders..
