Heard about the ginormous plastic blob in the Pacific? This isn't a post about global warming, this is much more cut and dry. Basically a hugemuncgloid plastic mass has formed in the Pacific ocean. Fish and birds are eating chunks of the plastic and it gets stuck in their stomachs, they starve to death.
Possibly worse, they think that some plastics leech out a chemical into water that tricks organisims into thinking it's some sort of hormone and it's now breaking down tiny organisims like plankton and other things that are at the foundation of the food chain.
