I like 2.125 tires on fatter rims. Looks good.
What size tires you got coming?
Carl.

Looks good. Are you gonna add some "patina" ?
Nice!!Sprocket came Sat which was the missing link to the drivetrain lol so the crank went in sun, I was looking for a Chainwheel that had a "Toaster" feel......Think this worked out well, chain is awfly close to the tire and theres bigger tires coming, so I ordered a cog sprocket for the rear hub to give it more room, crank is spaced as far out as threads allow, this build was going tooo smooth, finally a bump in the road, the deep cog might put the chain out to far out and touch the frame. we will see, more to come!!
Oh yea, and that Kickstand.....that went on nice and easy
Is the existing rear cog ‘dished’ at all? I’ve found when installing 3” wide tires, that flipping it out gave me about .25” (6-7mm) which was just enough to clear the tire sidewall and still avoid the chainstays. But, that’s with width rim widths 47mm and less wide. Is rear rear hub single speed, I only ask because I don’t recall seeing a deep dished rear cog on an IGH.
BTW, loving this bike!
Well Doc..... the wheels have a sturmey archer 3 speed hub and yes the cog has a small dish to it, with turning it out I could make it work with cocking the rear wheel, but I ordered a deep cog to give that a shot, and well it spaced everything perfectly. This has been the smoothest buld I think ive done lol, its like she has the will to live.
Tires are in! it was 50 degrees yesterday so I took things on and off 1000 times, re-spacing the crank and rear cog and the chain, and tire are finally perfect.....
Above Pic, original rear cog, shorter chain, shorter fork height, velo seat, no bar bag......
Lower pic is current and after all adjustments, deep rear cog, longer chain, forks raised up, my hybrid springer seat.....
So I loaded her up and took her to the beach for a test ride and MAN! Shes solid, smooth, comfortable and well FAST! I really am in shock on how it gets up and goes the bike is anything but lite so i guess its a momentum thing but yea I love it.
SOOO Im going to do some final adjustments and cleaning/polish and have a final photoshot. Also got to figure out these tailights, im not 100% happy with them. all my bikes have working headlights/tails. But overall......I can see the finishline.
I hate covering them when I have to repair them. I like to point to the repair later.OK well couldn't be happier with how the painting went, I used a tripple glaze clear from Home Depot, 1st time using it and .... it lays wet. Also ordered the wheels and tires, went with 26x2 anodized red with black spokes with a sturmey archer 2 speed kick back hub and 3" white wall Duro Beachbum tires. Looking forward to feedback!
Before the clear I speckled on some black, grey, and red to add some detail when looking close.....
Nicely done! Everything fits. And the bare frame is the clincher.
