I like 2.125 tires on fatter rims. Looks good.
What size tires you got coming?

Carl.

To be honest, so do I, especially the yellowed white walls lol, I have 26x3 BeachBum tires coming, ill see how they look.....these might stay tho.

Sprocket came Sat which was the missing link to the drivetrain lol so the crank went in sun, I was looking for a Chainwheel that had a "Toaster" feel......Think this worked out well, chain is awfly close to the tire and theres bigger tires coming, so I ordered a cog sprocket for the rear hub to give it more room, crank is spaced as far out as threads allow, this build was going tooo smooth, finally a bump in the road, the deep cog might put the chain out to far out and touch the frame. we will see, more to come!!

Nice!!

Is the existing rear cog ‘dished’ at all? I’ve found when installing 3” wide tires, that flipping it out gave me about .25” (6-7mm) which was just enough to clear the tire sidewall and still avoid the chainstays. But, that’s with width rim widths 47mm and less wide. Is rear rear hub single speed, I only ask because I don’t recall seeing a deep dished rear cog on an IGH.
BTW, loving this bike!

Well Doc..... the wheels have a sturmey archer 3 speed hub and yes the cog has a small dish to it, with turning it out I could make it work with cocking the rear wheel, but I ordered a deep cog to give that a shot, and well it spaced everything perfectly. This has been the smoothest buld I think ive done lol, its like she has the will to live.

Tires are in! it was 50 degrees yesterday so I took things on and off 1000 times, re-spacing the crank and rear cog and the chain, and tire are finally perfect.....

Above Pic, original rear cog, shorter chain, shorter fork height, velo seat, no bar bag......
Lower pic is current and after all adjustments, deep rear cog, longer chain, forks raised up, my hybrid springer seat.....

So I loaded her up and took her to the beach for a test ride and MAN! Shes solid, smooth, comfortable and well FAST! I really am in shock on how it gets up and goes the bike is anything but lite so i guess its a momentum thing but yea I love it.

That's an amazing view from.ther. That second to the last pic is a work of art. I Really like it a lot! [emoji106][emoji106][emoji41]

Came out great! Looking forward to the photoshoot

OK well couldn't be happier with how the painting went, I used a tripple glaze clear from Home Depot, 1st time using it and .... it lays wet. Also ordered the wheels and tires, went with 26x2 anodized red with black spokes with a sturmey archer 2 speed kick back hub and 3" white wall Duro Beachbum tires. Looking forward to feedback!

Before the clear I speckled on some black, grey, and red to add some detail when looking close.....

I hate covering them when I have to repair them. I like to point to the repair later.

Nicely done! Everything fits. And the bare frame is the clincher.

BONUS POST-

Hey, want to hear a secret? Ive been secretly building a sister bike to the "Brave Little Toaster" Long story short I had so much fun building this Patina style vintage looking updated cruiser called "the Brave Little Toaster" and I had the opportunity to pick up another matching frame (but in perfect condition) that I decided to keep the "Vintage Updated Cruiser" feel and build a sister bike that was named "Stella" (my wife names all my builds)

So as the Brave Little Toaster has a "Patina" vintage feel, Stella I wanted vintage but in a way like a vintage car that has been garage kept with 5 miles on it for the past 30 years lol. Although the Toaster was my main focus, I had to post its sister because I couldent be happier with its final results. So heres a pic of her today, and a link to some of the build process posted in another thread on this site, when the girls get their final photo shoot ill post those pics here also.

Thanks to all your guys comments my motivation was kicked into overload. More to come from me for sure!
