Such a beautiful weekend. My wife went to Florida with our oldest daughter and another lady. I stayed here on the Cape with my other daughter and my pug. You'd think, what a setup with no worries and a nice weekend. So I spent quality time with Amy with her swing bike........what about the Shadow?..............finishing up the welds and helping her prep for paint. She did all the prepping, I did the paint on Sunday. We squeezed off the entire paint job
and then we forgot the seat post  . No big deal. What about the Shadow?
I made breakfest for my Dad and Amy. We also went for lunch and wine shopping. We also planted some flowers at the cemetery for my wife's mother. We took the dog for a good walk along with the bike ride. What about the Shadow.
On Sunday I finished the painting on the swing bike for Amy. Then in the afternoon I started to work on the Shadow. I had worked on the chain tensioner this week but didn't finish it up.
The chain tensioner was made from a BMX freewheel set. I cut off all the spokes from the hub and then cut up the hub so that I had just the freewheel side. The fun part is taking the hub apart to remove the pawls and their springs. A few hundred loose ball bearings to deal with here. The thing to remember when mounting this is that this freewheel has to spin counter clockwise so that the keeper doesn't spin it's way off and spit all those bearings out  .
I made up a tube to attatch under and cut up a MTB goose neck to use as an adjuster. Welded this to a large washer I made with a stud coming through it. I then could bolt my freewheel to this.
This works very well and can be removed for servicing.
I hoped to get more done but thats it. I will have to pick up the pace and be painting something on Thanksgiving weekend.
Later......GL
