I agree, Huffy, it would've possibly had a tank, gear shifter at some point, is that rear hub a 3-Speed? I see indications on the right side of handlebars it had something mounted (gear shifter?).
Here's a ref picture (borrowed from the iNet).
 
it does look like something was once mounted to the handle bars. i think the hub and everything has been changed, is the chaingaurd original?

That is a great rear hub! Bendix 2-speed automatic (kickback). If working correctly, slightly pedal backwards, then forward again. The hub should shift between high and low gear ( drive and underdrive). Im sure there is a link on here to clean and grease it. Assembly and reassembly must be done a certain way, damage will occure if not correctly executed! The index spring is the most fragile part, and not easy to find a replacement.

5H.....1955 most likely. Dont know about that front fork...Doesnt look like the 60s era Huffy frame...to me anyway.
