$75. I'm not seeing that in this. Plus, the frame is pretty chipped and I see rust. So... I would have to strip and repaint it. Plus basket and streamers... but anyway, do you see $75 in this? I think it's the thick tires that really drew my eye. It's for my 4 year old as her first bike, so I'll need it to be awesome and perfect.
I'm thinking $40, but I don't want to seem like a lowballing a######.

The bike's an hour away. I don't want to waste the gas or time. If he says no, then I'll float it... meaning I'll tell him to let me know if he changes his mind.

But I agree, normally I like to do it face to face.

Just realized these guys are 'flippers'. I see their other CL adds, and it looks like stuff found in auctioned storage units. So I doubt they'll go for $40. Text sent, we'll see.

If they are flippers try to trade something you no longer want for it. Get them talking and feel them out. Ask what's the lowest they'd go if it was cash today? (Those two words "CASH TODAY" are music to a seller's ears) Then the ball is in their court and nobody gets offended.

Then chew them down a bit from there a little bit. then when you get there go a little lower again.

sure, just because someone has one listed at $380 buy it now (+137 shipping), does not mean that anyone is actually buying one for that much. There's a big difference between asking price and selling price.

I see a $40 bike.

That bike was $200-220 new. Are they offering a warrantee?

I'm so sick of seeing "these sell for $2000 on ebay!" but I'm only asking $100. Anyone can list anything for any amount, doesn't mean its worth that much or anything close to it.
