LOVE those bars!

They definitely emit a sense of speed. Look awesome with those torpedo grips and that headlamp. I love the "brass" rings too.
The headlamp isn't finished yet look for another word from our sponsor soon...

LOVE those bars!

Thanks! Gertie's's been dragging them around for a couple of builds till the Grease Slapper laid claim to them. I think it's the third bike they've been on. Tom says they stay and our honorary color guard and all around nice guy never lies...

I agree with the others, the bars look cool on the bike. I just keep thinking my knees would be hitting them though.

Can't make everyone happy...lol
When I take pictures with the seat and bars in the riding position, folks all say "It'd look cool with the seat slammed and the bars flipped." so, there ya go posed for the masses, but not how I ride it. I actually like how it looks and feels with them pointing straight up!

And now a word from our sponsor.

Hey there swinging cyclers aren't you tired of the same old cheap plastic headlight trying to be cool? Well it doesn't take much to transform it into a blue light special with just a few hand tools and a little imagination. Now we could have done this with simple screws, and we could've probably just used hotglue. But remember this is YOUR BIKE. It's not a craft project or something just good enough. So we cut the brass bolts to the length we needed and threaded on some cool brass balls. Don't be afraid to experiment, the knurled screws that hold globes on light fixtures was our inspiration and a cool trio of those would look great too. Drilling holes into the integral bezel was easy and an 8/32 tap threaded the hole to fit. That's also the size needed for those knurled screws I mentioned earlier. After that it was a matter of simple assembly. Hope you like em'.

Race fans we're coming up on the end of the Build Off and Gerty compiled a few pictures of the different versions of the Thunderbolt Grease Slapper. Tom's been just cruising the '53 Spitfire around and working on lighting. I wonder...

Cool area for pics! Welcome back to page 1 where the cool kids hang out.

I think Gertie stopped off and smoked some crawdads with her cousin Granny.
