Townie Balloon 8i

I got a good deal on this and picked it up last night. It has the nexus 8 with a roller brake out back, a nexus roller brake in the front, and a nice set of fat franks. Typically not a bike I would normally buy but man they do ride nice, and it's surprisingly light for a cruiser. The wheelset is the main reason I bought it and pretty sure they will make it to a klunker project. The rims are really cool with dual white pinstripes on dark blue rims. Not really sure what will happen to the rest of it. The color isn't quite as dark as it is in the pictures.

Great wheelset for Klunker. I didn't know that Electra pinstriped their wheels.

Townie has their own model wheel for most of the townies but those balloon versions are different. The balloon frames are also different from the regular line I'm told, supposed to have more clearance in the forks and frames for adding fenders ... which im told is a difficult task if you add the fat tires to a non-balloon townie.

There still isn't a ton of clearance on this frame but a fender should fit in there pretty easily. Here's a picture of the pinstriped rim (it's a little dirty).
