Black and Blue has been ready for over 3 weeks but I only got in a ride today. It exceeded my expectations. It fits me perfectly even though it's got 24 x 1 3/8ths wheels. No squeaks or rubbing and it shifted fine. At 26lbs I was able to pedal up the incline back to the house. It's just the right size for the bike rack.
It's an 1989 24" ten speed frame from the junk shop with everything else scavenged from my parts pile. I added splatters of different shades of blue to the original blue paint. Here's the build thread: https://ratrodbikes.com/threads/bnb.117089/

Cool mix of parts. I dig the paint job

Now redone again. It had 20" wheels on it. (Bulldog) It's BnB again. (Black and Blue)

I tried 26" wheels on this 24" frame before, but had 1.75 tires and they didn't fit. Now I tried my extra 26 x 1.38 tires and they fit!

I had to use a band brake because a rear caliper wouldn't fit, but I used a 90mm brake which gives good stopping power. The front brake has just enough spacing to use, even though it's a 24" fork.

I nabbed the best set of 26" rims off one of my other bikes and added a 52 tooth chainwheel. With a 20 tooth freewheel cog gives a good cruising ratio. The chainwheel looks even larger on that small frame. It's 18" about the same height as a cruiser frame.

This might be the bike that goes on the car rack because of it's light weight. The test ride this morning was good.

This is one of the scrap frames I picked up a few years ago, but this one has the original blue paint, I just added the splatters and clear coat.

I have never owned or ridden a fixie. I've had the hub for a couple years but only used it as a freewheel so I gave it a try. I have a front brake of course. I took it down the street and it rode fine but is different.

The fixie didn't grow on me. It's reverted to a 2 speed freewheel, a SRAM Automatix. I laced up this wheelset using the last of my red spokes sometime last year.

I changed out the cog to a 16 with a chainwheel of 36. That gives a GI of 56 and 76 and should ride pretty good with the skinny smooth tires. I don't have a rear brake that fits, this was made for 24" wheels and I have 26" wheels and a 26" fork. It's got a short wheelbase and is fairly light. It'll go on the bike rack easily.

This 24" size frame is getting yet another makeover. This time it will be a small single speed freewheel bike able to be taken in the car for outings. There are usually 4 of us when we go out and about, so another small bike is needed. I used the wheels off my old Dahon that were almost discarded, but some lube and cleaning up along with some black paint brought them back for use. They were still true. The bearings were all good too. I'm also using the old Michelin Diablos, one has a few cracks but still hasn't given out. The folding handlebar and stem is from another project that didn't pan out, so it will be a half folder and should fit in the back of the vehicle with no problem. The seat lowers with the quick release. With an oversize band brake and a 52 tooth chain wheel it should cruise along fairly well. The 26" fork gives enough height so a standard crank, 170mm works with plenty of ground clearance.
I think the frame is from 1989, just guessing from the number: 9 044225. I've looked and can't find any info that ID's that single digit first followed by 2 spaces.
