Like the title says, what's the TPI (threads per inch) on a standard Schwinn crank? I just bought a 1967 crank and thought the set off a 'new' Schwinn bike would work, apparently, NOT! Is it 28?

Cheers!

Yep, it looks like the 'new' crank definitely has fewer threads. Darn! This project is nickle and diming me to death! :? Or divorce, whatever happens first!

Thanks for the confirmation.....

Cheers,

the bearings are usually different too 9 bearing cage w/28tpi vs 10 bearing cage w/24tpi. mix em up and you end up mashing a cage up sometimes wondering why it feels loose.
