I saw these guys at the last Floyd Fest in Virginia, they where great.
murraymadman have you checked out Reverend Payton's Big .... Band, there amazing live!
Also check out Sunday Valley, there a little different than the bluegrass stuff but they rock.

I'm not actually from NC, I grew up in NJ, and moved to Va. Beach in 95, then out here in 08. But, I listen to a local college station as well as NPR, and they play a lot of this kinda stuff. I'm sure if I heard some Avett Bros., i'd go "Ah, those guys! There's also a great band from Asheville called the Mad Tea Party, halfway between folk & rockabilly. -Adam

yes, i would have to agree with that comment! the banjo player flat picks all the time! i noticed that when we were at the show, we were maybe 10 feet from them. you have to be fast to do that! :shock:
