A cold blustery day here in Minnesota, rained all day here yesterday, we got about 3/4". Our temps hovered in the high 30's nearly all day. Unfortunately, for our neighbors just about 100 mi north of here, it was right at 30 degrees, and my sister-in-law watched this happen out her cabin window....
That's right, Mr Science, 1" of rain = 10" of snow.
On a much more cheery note, I got made some progress on the MIG-RaT yesterday and today. I took
to what a number of you said about shortening the shift lever (cue Norwegian saying from Video #2) and took it down so it now sits comfortably under the straight bar. It did dominate the look at it's full length, and fits better now I think.
Bonus points for anyone who can tell me what this clamp is originally intended for?
So with it all 'geared up', I took it out to my favorite neighborhood park to test the shifting, and ride of the bike.
Rides great! And I like how the shift lever is tucked in more into the frame this way. I will skip the bottom trumpet mute casing, it's too large for the length of the lever now.
When I got home, I checked the mail box just for the heck of it, and I found this ! YahoooOOOOooOOoo!
My post made by Chad at ChopShopCustomz ! I dug out my 'find' I got early one morning this past winter in AZ, and paired them up. The Brooks came with a 13/16 seat clamp, so you will notice the mounting extension was built up to fit that clamp. The rest of the post is a pretty standard 5/8" diameter.
It really helped stretch me out a bit, and adds a little 'stretch' to the look as well,
@Glen .
So now the question remains, wood tank (with a mocked up flame cut out) or no wood tank. Please vote with your choice!
Or...
There are more ideas for additions to this build, paint decisions (or not) possibly one other 'tank insert' option, but this is where it stands as of now.
