Whats with these tubes popping or leaking when the bike is just sitting ? now I understand the heat thing in the sun but when it is just sitting in the garage ? and the worst one just popped this morning, the back tire of my "Wise Guy" build from last year was flat this morning (two tubes on a double rim) anyways I am just venting and I despise SLIME !!!!!

They usually wait til you least expect it! In '96, I lived in an apartment in Va. Beach, and parked my '56 Schwinn Corvette behind the couch. In the middle of the night, i was awakened by what sounded like a gunshot! I gingerly turned on lights, and looked around, and outside, and couldn't find anything unusual. A few days later, I went to take the bike out, and noticed a big flappin' hole in the rear tire. They were Schwinn Superior ww's from a 1967 girls' parts bike. Fast forward to a year ago, it was about 10pm, when we heard a big boom! Couldn't see anything outside, but the next day, we were headed out to the store in our car, when I noticed this on my '64 Jeep.

Dry rotted tires, not too safe!  -Adam

Get the extra thick Slime tubes they sell at walmart now, they feel like a motorcycle tube there so thick, I have them in several bikes and they don't lose air at all and you can pump them up tighter, they are conciderably more expensive though, but well worth it.
