I finally have time and final pieces to finish off some of these old builds that have been set aside
Figured it would be best to combine into a single post

Schwiinciser = mid 50's 24" schwinn and schwinn exerciser parts

mostly finished but still some things that need to be done

here is a good close up of the base i built to hold the milk crate

that's a beauty! i love the latches to hold the front crate, and the WARNING etched right in front.
would be perfect for farmers market run.

I thought the idea of turning the tension brakes into a truss rod was always a neat idea
but I never truly liked my initial try at it
Recently I did come up with what I feel is a far superior truss rod look than the original

final original design

the updated design
keep in mind this is the most recent mock up and not the final product

Other than the 2 rubber and steel clamps attached to the brake arms and fork
this 10/32 threaded rod (4"long) and little shaft collar
are the only other new parts I had to add to make this new truss system work

I was able to put the springs from the tension system to good use
check it out
now they are spacers for the fender attachments
