Is he Sure that's not a monark built frame?
It has the original Columbia head badge on it. That's all I can tell you.

Looks like I'll have at least 2 entries for the ORBO after all. I'm going to fix up this freebie 18-speed Huffy for my mom so we can both have a more capable bike to ride on the gravel trails. It's a little rough, but I figure this bike just needs a tune-up and a seat to be usable again.

I've contemplated doing a skinny wheel buildoff. 1.5s can easily replace the 1.75s on it.

Of course, this depending on if I get the klunker built in time we'll see if I can fit in this 57 CWC built Shelby middleweight. Cwc machinery operated in Littlerock after AMF moved the tooling out of Ohio a couple years earlier.

I have begun buying parts. My entry will be a red Schwinn Racer. My plan is to build a 26in wheelset with a 2 speed bendix kickback. BMX bars. Klunker/BMX inspired build.
I had a 71 Racer. 2.125 tires were too wide, but 2.0 fit.

Funny you mention that. I was just test fitting a pair of 2.1 tires I have been saving for this. They rub. Would it be possible to dimple both the chain stays and seat stays? Maybe I can get someone here to build me a dimpling tool.

I think the chain stays are already dimpled. Have you considered other tires? There are a lot of choices in this size. I used a few 26 x 1.9 knobbies in the past. BMX style could include 26 x 1.75.

I have 26 x 2.1 panaracer fires. I really like the look.

I did find similar looking tires on eBay that are 26x2.0. They are inexpensive and non branded, which gives me pause.

The smoke and dart tires are listed as 26x2. They could be an option. How much difference is there between 2.1 and 2? Silly question. I guess I am wondering if the smoke and darts will also be too tight.

I don’t thing thing there is any dimpling currently.

Some strong protruding side knobs on those Panaracers. Depending on your rim dimension (width) they could be tight in the frame near the BB. Grippy as all get out though, and a classic MTB tire for sure!

Maybe…

I've made some more tweaks to my design and I finally figured out the handlebars which have always been an unresolved question mark for the last five years or so. I knew I wanted some kind of geared gullwing type bars but I wasn't quite sure how to integrate it with the rest of the design. I think I may revisit L'Angelo at some point and change the handle bars because I was never happy with them either.
