Finally had a serious Facebook Marketplace buyer for our tandem bike. More space in garage now. Can’t keep them all. Gotta know when to cut bait.

I put Trike-Tor back together with aged hardware. It’s complicated enough that there is definite disassembly/reassembly procedure to be followed, otherwise two steps forward, three steps back or so.

Undecided as to whether to activate the running lights, maybe, maybe not. Plenty of space for another battery pack or give the horn pack double duty. I probably won’t ever ride this at night.
My view as I type this post.

Lol getting rid of the tandem must clear out a little bit of room. I have to drag mine around the garage about 8 times a day because it's blocking something. And then, it's almost guaranteed that the new spot I moved it to obstructs the next thing I'm going to need

Sold mine as well (last month). It was a blessing.

Yep about the space of 3 to 4 bikes depending on the bikes. The wide bars and length were monstrous. My wife and did the neighborhood streets, Sonic DI with it, a few charity rides. It spent more time gathering dust and cobwebs in the garage than it did outside. The tires on it we had hauled back from Seward, Alaska, had to buy an extra suitcase. Memories...
It was also a major deal to transport it somewhere. Tandems are cool but maybe renting one if possible makes more sense.

Backup failsafe rear brake. This thing is too heavy to stop with your feet in an emergency. So I’m going to try to get a Tektro 79-99mm reach caliper brake set up for extra braking option. I guess with a little thought it could serve as a parking brake also, should beat a block of wood.

It’s reverse mounted do to geometry restrictions. I have the cable just need to find a brake lever.

Ran across this hissing cockroach cake, shape has some similarities to the hood.

Finished up with the “failsafe” rear brake this morning while it’s still 78.

I need to true up the rear wheel. The tire is just wide enough that the wheel needs to be a little straighter than it is. Tightened up the spindle bolts to eliminate their high tolerance play. That added to controllability. The steel angle at cross beam eliminates some of the flex feel also.
