was given a 1'' threaded springer

hi all,
i was given a 1'' threaded springer fork and i'd like to try and make it work on my 1 1/8th threaded cruiser

i've been researching online and found some "reducer cups" made by different manufacturers...

does anyone have any experience with these types of things?

i realize i will have to get a new headset, but i think they are only like 10$ or so, so not really a big deal...

thoughts and ideas are welcome.

I'm looking to get these cups as well off Amazon.com. Why would you need a new headset if you buy the cups?

Because the cups just take up the negative space, o u still need to put a head set in

I also thinking I could just get or make a replacement steering tube

I'm up in the air about using the reducers. A 1" Wald headset is cheap and popping the cups out is easy enough.

Just got back from the LBS my bud owns,

Ordered up the following:
1 1/8 - 1" head set reducer cups

1" threaded headset
22.2-28.6 quill- clamp on thing (so I can use my piston stem)

Should all work out in the end!!

Sounds like you're hooked up, just make sure you got a "normal" 1" threaded headset--- an "American"-standard 1" headset is oversized, and won't fit into the reducer cups.
