I picked up an old Premier 27" wheel 5 speed tourer (Japanese made for the Australian market)for 10 bucks at a Yard Sale 2 weeks ago with the intention of flipping it at our local swap later this year. The cheap whitewalls I bought off ebay turned up, and after I unpacked them I leaned two of them up against the Premier................Hmmmmmm..............doesn't look too bad  .
I fitted the whitewalls to a set of old wheels and installed a single speed freewheel as well as putting a 26" fork on the bike. Some bars and a front brake from the parts box along with using the "Armstrong" method to widen the chainstays so the 2.125 would fit.
Rides real nice. I think I'll keep it!!

wow, that is really clean bike. musta been a chore to widen those chainstays, but it really paid off, as the bike looks really plush as well. for the lack of old cantilever framed "american" bikes down there, you guys always make up for it and do some very nice builds with what is availible there. sweet.

Dude that's turned out nice! It's good to see blokes doing up conventional rattlers into something worth looking at! Those whites are sweet too. Have ya thought about maybe "rattin' it" by maybe giving the decals the old lemonade and sars and adding the odd "vintage" looking accessory like a headlamp and even a leather tool bag?? To me it's all in the detail, and that bike looks very smooth. Nice work :D
