Finally did a little work today. Found some steering cups and bearings and installed the forks. Also installed some BB cups.

Then aired up the front rire and mounted the wheel. No clearance issues with the fork.

I know I will have to extend the dropouts to use this rear tire and wheel combo, but i was surprised that i could at least squeeze it in enough to mount the wheel for mockups.

Hey B, is there any room to just maybe dremmel some of the seat and chain stays away and fit the tire in the rear? I was able to get a 3" width one in the rear of Hawth of a Different Color, with just grinding some of the wall thickness out of the sides where the tire would fit between the tubing at the widest points.

I'll take a closer look and do some measuring and cipherin', but these BOAs are pretty freaking wide when inflated (especially on 57mm rims). They are also fairly tall tires. I know it looked too tight to do the chainstay crimp trick. The clearance issue is only with the chainstays.

Well, I know I am using this wheelset for sure, so I just needed to use different tires. I remember that I had these blackwall Felt Circuit tires that I got in trade for some New Belgium Quick Bricks. I've always liked the looks of this tread.

I think I like how they look with the blue too. Kinda tones the wheelset down a notch with less contrast than the whitewalls.

I also don't have to worry about frame clearance with this wheel/tire combo. In comparision these tires are 2" above the rim (1" shorter overall from BOAs) and 2.5" wide (0.5" narrower than the BOAs). They still have a beefer look with these rims, just not super fat like the BOAs.
