When I met Ed Roth's son at the World of Wheel this year in Atlanta, he was full of story's! One he talked about was how Huffy came to his dad(Ed Roth) and wanted to make a deal with him to make a Rat Fink bicycle. When Huffy came to Meet with him, a crime was committed just down the street form Eds shop and caused Huffy to closed the deal. The Rat Fink bike never came to be until Electra picked up on the idea not to long ago!

Man how I would love to have a 1960's Huffy RAT FINK!

Thanks for reading,
Tyler

Man ,that would have been cool.We can't imagine his touch on those things. I wonder what color(s) he would have put on those babies besides a Rat Fink green? Road Agent Pink,Mysterion yellow etc...? :?:

I imagine by that time the "Surfite" was just coming out and a lot of beach goers would of probably wanted their own version!
If I was Huffy I would of gone with the yellow metal flake look and the Surfin Rat image

Ed Roth was one of my heroes when I was a kid. I had almost all the car and monster models.
Wish I'd kept them.

By the way, Spokeshave, Did you get the Oribitron picture from the Iowahawk article on recovering and restoring the Orbitron?
It's a good read.

Yup, how cool is it to find a piece of hot rod history like the Orbitron? I can't get enough of Big Daddy.

+1

perhaps this could be the theme for the next RRBO...Big Daddy inspired bikes. Or perhaps a "what-if" scenario. You know, "What if Big Daddy had a contract w/ Murray, Huffy, etc."

yeah that would be awesome but unfortunately I have another idea in mind and have been collecting parts for the build off for months now
