Ouch. Linen tends to be tough too. So hopefully aside from shock, she is ok. Lucky you have access to lots of skirt guard pics and ideas from the past here. Something that I am surprised isn’t an option more often seen these days with more families going car free.
Aside from a scare, my wife is ok, thank you Dave. Now that you mention it I am surprised as wel.
I was thinking about the wires ropes that are 'hooked' between the fenders and a bracket near the rear shaft.

Like this Victor 1894 (link) ladies bike

They sell these skirt guards on Ali express under the name rear seat safety net. Amazon too.

I took my trusty Elgin for Old Bikes Club monthly ride on Sunday. Small group of the core guys from the beginning with no real plan. We checked out all the new amenities of the National Western complex & explored the area around it. It almost felt as if we were being guided as many "how does that happen" moments along the way that were more than coincidence.:13::13::giggle::tmi::whew::21:

Chillin' at a park after cruising the complex in the background...

Ran into a lovely lady that prepares & delivers delicious Ethiopian food in the area. I was born there & the 3rd "One Love" reference of the ride so far...

It was an epic day that finished in the dark & we had an absolute blast!!

On the way back we spotted this '32 Ford in a lobby. A 1:1 scale in cardboard!:cool:

I love talented people! Need to go back when they're open for a close look.🤓

Picked up another trailer on the other end of Berlin, way up in the north (I live in the south west). To get up there I took the S-Bahn to save some energy. The way back was around 30 kilometers. With a few stops it took me about 2 hours to get the trailer home...
Pick up at the location:

Folded down to not create to much wind resistance

Nice bridge to take a pic on the way back. It was below zero when I left off...

The kind of stop you do not want to make. I passed the location, where just last Friday a new Ghostbike was installed to commemorate the last victim of Berlin traffic🕯️🖤 I took a few minutes to pay my respects.

The Firemens Fountain at Mariannenplatz. Here every last Friday of the month the Berlin CriticalMass starts at around 8 p.m.

Back home. And this trailer will get a splatter board as well, when I'm done with it.

This trailer will probably pop up in a new build thread. See you there...:wink1:

I had a chance for a couple hours with PRPPL NRPPL yesterday to soak up amazing weather & sweep the track in Firestone. 😈

Picked up a nicer seat than I was using & top nut for the headset. I adjusted the handlebar a bit & it just keeps getting better! 🥰 One of my all time favorite bikes. With the Sun magnetic poles being flipped I want to work in as much fun during Solar Maximum as possible over the winter. And sorry but it will often be with PRPPL NRPPL. Not sorry!🤓

It's great when you get a bike set up perfectly.

I was having trouble getting the saddle set right on the Giant Fastroad. Even the Brooks C17 wasn't as comfortable as other builds I've used one on.
It's got a micro-adjust composite seat post with a dial for setting pitch - and I tried a variety of heights as well - forward, back. Just 'not quite right' no matter what I did.

So I swapped out the straight-flat handlebars for some with a 30mm rise and the difference is outstanding. Perfect ergos for my height now (6'4").

Also loving the Maxxis re-fuse rubber. They have added a degree comfort as well - much plusher ride - and look the shizzle.

Aluminium frame with composite carbon forks and post, 11x2 Shimano 105 and FSA running gear, Tektro hydro brakes, Brooks grips and saddle, Giant lights, Garmin Edge, Kong Bell, Knog Scout alarm (they are a very good thing if you use the bike for running errands like I do - it's got an alarm that sounds on the bike (not very loud) but it sends an alert to your phone immediately if anyone touches/moves the bike at all. It also works with 'Find My' tracking. I team it with a small cable lock at the shops. It's on the seat tube just above the chainwheel.)

As previously noted - I'm too old and brittle for drop bars any more, but this bike is now tres comfortable, light and responsive, climbs well and is reasonably fast. So nice to ride.
