Pringles ftw.
A couple weeks ago I did my first 100k, that night I had the worst leg cramps I’ve ever had. The next day I did a century, brought a can of pringles as a tasty way to get starch, no cramps that night. 🤣 I always bring Pringle on long rides now. Idk if that’s the actual reason I didn’t get cramps, but it’s tasty riding food.

Cooler with showers today - so out came the wet bike again.

My old Raleigh has seen some recent changes and plenty of fun miles this summer.

and the Colson has been reliable as ever. Changes may be in the works again soon.

I was thinking that the Evans fork could make the Specialized SHARKRUISER more Sharkey, but I am actually hoping to re-home the bike before I build it.

My July 1st Canada Day was spent going over the hubs and bearings if this very clean 1952 CCM that I picked up locally (Toronto) the day before.

I put a Shimano 3 speed wheel set and some fender filling rubber in place, lost the rack and added the rear stand that I had. Shifter TBD.
I also have a local plate that will finally a perfect home on my only CCM.

I built up this 24" Hiawatha frame just because and would rather re-home than ride.

Saturday was New Bike Day. I've been looking at replacements for my 2009 Windsor Tourist for a couple years, and decided on this:

2023 Trek 520. What a beaut. I am tickled. I drove 3 hours north from central CT to buy it in Waterbury VT, cuz it's the only one I could find. The shop set it up very well, and we stopped in Lebanon NH on the way home and did a thirty mile ride on a rail trail that followed a river and a lake.

we stopped four miles from the end at a sweet swimming hole for much needed relief:

that's me with the giddy expression and thumbs up. The water was so nice.
Cheers all. Stay cool.

Maurice has been grounded for a bit but since I finally had a chance to swap in a rear cog with some offset the other day he's good to go and smoother than ever!
I took it out for Bike Night last night with 186 other riders!

The theme was "Duct Tape" which gave me the opportunity to wear my special t-shirt that I made!

As luck would have it, my friend Nancy gave me a t-shirt she made me to poke fun at my crashing at the top of the new parking structure a couple weeks ago. My new favorite t-shirt!!!:inlove::heart::inlove:

Last night was Cruise Night in town. The hot rods get to take over Main St. to show off their rides & one of my favorite events of the year! I took Maurice for a ride to cruise the parking lots & see things up close & meet interesting people. I love ratty old pick up trucks that have been fixed up & this Studebaker was my favorite of the night.

I also like old station wagons. Having a later model 300c, this old Chrysler with original interior that also came from Western Colorado had me breathless for a moment.

My Chrysler has made me a Mopar fan so really liked this cab over pick up.

This VW is sitting at a car dealer...

A bicycle is the best way to get around & see everything up close & talk to the owners/builders and Maurice had a great time!
