Today I took the CobblestoneRat with my little cargo trailer to the lake with the kids. That heavy bag containes my son's SUP board...
I've done more small detail work on the Sprint 12 - as well as polishing up the wheels and spokes. It really pops now.
Did 25 miles of trails on the neo-klunker in the heat yesterday (personal distance best on the single speed):
Might have overdone it a bit in the heat, completely emptied my 2-liter knock-off camelback (never did that before). Got home & slammed another liter of propel/mio water mix. Once I cooled down, I washed the bike & relaxed in the A/C the rest of the afternoon.

Today it was time for a special protest ride: Badefahrt! (you could translate it as ride to the beach)
Around 109 cyclists gathered at the Brandenburg Gate to ride to the beach at Tegeler See, way up in the north of Berlin. All with perfect police protection.
The boys and I joined and I sported the CobblestoneRat with it's brand new protest ride trailer (my cargo trailer with a little upgrade...

It was big fun and the boys and I had a good time together!

I put the properly sign-written Rad plate back on the STR because ... match.
And I've been riding it heaps. Spring as sprung in Brisbane - glorious weather for pedals of late.

Time to shed my winter coat. Getting back into a regular 20km ride around the bayside before work on the Giant Fastroad SL1.

Can't wait to get back to riding. Three weeks knee surgery post-op right now. Maybe two more weeks I can test it (?).
And another protest ride (as the politicians in Berlin take one very bike unfriendly decision after the other we have lots of protest rides going on this month...)

Cool bike. I wanna build a 700 bike for long distance riding. Take it from hybrid to hardcore(ish)
Decided to hit a local mtb trail today, haven't been on one in over a year. This was in route:
Ooops, there's a stop sign at the end of that road that has the T-intersection.
Made it to the Dubuque proving grounds: It opened a few years ago and they added the sign since the last time I was there:
They have an area that's called "shakedown," it's basically a green line with small jumps & burms. There's a few skinnies & skills sections too. I did a few laps on that & then decided to hit the blue lines:

Black Diamond... nah, I'll pass!
They do have some fun features, teeter-totter & big drop in to a downhill launch
But what I had heard about that I was most excited for, was their new jump line!
The new jump line was a blast, I only cased one tabletop the 1st pass. The second pass, the old man cleaned em all!
My bat-phone case clipped to the back of the camelback knockoff was tested today, it survived the trails & jump lines with no issues:
I had on my shocks headphones & they were perfect all day, tunes were courtesy of pandora, Lamb of God radio.
When I got done there, I did about 10 miles on the Bee branch trail.
Sorry for the lengthy post, but it was one of the most fun days I've had in a while!

After doing a heap of small details, I've just reworked the '82 Sprint 12.
I wasn't using lower part of the drop/race bars at all, so I made its 64cm frame into a steely cruiser for the taller gentleman.
Adjustable stem, 75mm riser bars and a Brooks B67. It's now mega-comfy in street clothes and it goes and looks great.
It rolls away my 30km Sunday run easy-as.
