Hey guys, I just ordered my basman frame and it'll be here soon. The problems (allbeit my problem) I'm running into is that I want to run 26x4 wheels with 144 spokes and they don't exist. Does any body know if two 26" wheels could be tacked together and made sound to create this wheel either in a 144 spoke or even a simple 5 star design? Any information is appreciated on this idea.

A guy in The Netherlands did it to his Basman. Looks very nice.

you could ask him....hes a member here...goes by marcello(not sure if i spelled his user name correct :? ) and if you want 4" wide rims youd better use 3-4 rims otherwise itll only be 65-75mm(im not sure of the exact width of 2 rim wheels.... look in karfer 67s posts in the build challenge section he did a 2 rim wheel and said the width)
or.....you could always buy a 4" wide wheel and drill the extra spoke holes you want and use a pre-made adapter(yes they are around...check places like chopperdome) to make a standard 36h hub into a higher count one(or you could make one easily yourself)....

good luck
