I have been on forums where they make it a point to never delete any posts or threads no matter how off topic or disrespectful things get. What usually ends up happening is that two people get upset with each other over a comment and then they bicker back and fourth for 3 or 4 pages of posts and it just turns into a shouting match. I can handle about 5 minutes of being on forums like that before I have to shut it down.

Most people come to forums like these to relax, have fun and enjoy a hobby. We try to help foster that environment from time to time by nuking posts that clearly are meant for stirring up trouble. Thankfully that has been a very rare occurrence here. We definitely don't enjoy having to do that either and would prefer that everyone would keep it light and have fun.

Rat Rod you run a good forum. I have been on others and seen the nightmare threads that never end. Keep up the good work.
Well said!

I like the webster's definition of vintage as an adjective, age having little or nothing to do with it.

Earlier somebody stated a bike from the 90's wouldn't be considered vintage. I would argue our 'last year' Petaluma built 1998 Salsas are fine examples of vintage bikes.

;-)

It's old junk if you are buying and Vintage as soon as you think about selling. ;)
It's like Fred (Redd) said, "We buy junk. We sell antiques.

I say vintage is any bicycle that has technology that is outdated and inefficient for it's purpose. Usually 25+ years old.

I like that tho..separating me (us) from the regular bicycle joes.

Anyone that likes anything vintage stuff, usually leans toward the simplicity of the outdated things.

This is a great opportunity for a shameless plus for American Vintage Bicycle Supply.

What is vintage.......Hhhmmmm......me:cool2:

I believe "Vintage" needs another qualifier to really complete the picture. Obviously a Vintage Muscle Bike isn't the same as a Vintage Bmx bike. Possibly the adjective "vintage", could be used pertaining to a bike that epitomizes the type of bicycle you would currently be talking about... but still it's kind of vague all by itself.
