Strip a frame and fork...but bot sand blast and not wire wheel??? Any body had luck a diffrent way?

Aircraft stripper. Usually available at Walmart. Use with gloves, eye protection and plenty of ventilation.

I just sand the frame, and I use a propane torch for the tight spots.... just heat it up till the paint bubbles, and then use a wire brush to scrub the paint off.

Take your frame to the nearsest radiator shop and ask them if you can put it in their cleaning tank overnight. I've done this many times and your frame will be bare metal when you pick it up. My shop does it for me for free. Gary

All good ideas the stripper is working good cause is leaving streaks of the red paint if i dont get it all off then scuff it...all great ideas.

I like this Citris Paint Stripper a lot better than Aircraft Paint Stripper, it's a lot safer to use IMHO.

most of my restorations have been rusty.I ue a DA sander, with 60 grit paper, gets it to clean steel quikly. Hand sand the hard to get spots. Etching primer from Advance AutoParts, and ready for paint!
