If the Worksman is not offered with a disk tab, you may be able to use a caliper adaptor like the A2Z.

Having grown up with them . . love the Schwinn cantilever frames.

The rear OLD spacng on the Worksman INB is 110mm. I've got fat franks on some wide rims on one of mine; you might be able to fit a 2.5" on a 26, depending what rim you use. This is a stock, un-modded frame. I'm sure ppl have widened these things for fatter rubber.

No disc tabs on these, and you'd need to do significant mods to put a 135mm wide rear hub in there, plus a disc tab or adaptor. And, being mild steel, i don't know how well it would react to the forces that a jury-rigged disc set-up would put on it. That being said, i bet it could be done. Question is: why? I'd take a coaster or drum over a disc for cruiser applications any day.

Pick, you listed most of my favorites, but I have to add the Monark/Hawthorne Wingbar to the list:

Thanks for posting that! I now have 6 favorite frames. If I ever find one of those, I will think I died & went to heaven!

Thanks to feePay, I'm now the proud new owner of a CWC frame very similar to the one that I started this thread with! :D
Now I'm on a mission to find the rest of the parts to build it with. This may be my build-off bike if I can get what I need!

If we're talking "Pipe Dreams" this is at the top of my list

Is that a type of rear shock built in? Forgive me purists....but that would look awesome as a Klunker.

I'm kind of partial to the newer 70's or 80's I think...Murray cantilever frames. They are lighter weight than most of the older frames and make great daily or weekend riders.

I like anything CWC, and Murray canti frame. But been wanting an X-53 for awhile now.

In Doug713 post, what year and model schwinn frame is that? Nice looking frame, would like to buy one. Would really like a Merlin frame, but the price is way beyond my means. Thanks for your help, Dave.

Love the Electras and the old Skool Dynos. If you are judging on aesthetics, Dynos hands down. If you are looking for aesthetics and functionality, it is hard to beat an Electra.
