Finally, not being a sports fan pays off. I couldn't stomach the 5 hours of Super Bowl pre-game show, so I did a little work on the computer. I followed up on a couple of bike leads, and took a ride out to Amish country.

I usually don't feel guilty buying bikes, but this might be an exception. Truthfully, the owner was glad to be rid of it, as it was a gift from his ex-wife. I think this might be a keeper. Keep an eye on the classifieds for the fenders, I think they may go.

That is the icing on cake with your other find. That paint looks like it will clean up nicely.

Oddly enough, you have a Columbia made JC Higgins with Murray components, too. :? Columbia made Jc Higgins bicycles are not as common as the completely made Murray ones, but do appear. The frame and chainrign are Columbia made, but I'd say the fenders and carrier, fork and chainguard are Murray made. I would not sell the fenders, as this bike is sort of unusual, it seems.

Cool find. Is the fork bent?

It might be, ever so slightly. I noticed that, too. I think I can straighten it. If I can't the neighborhood shop can. Worst case scenario, I think I have one just like it.
