Wives are like that. They never approve of their stuff getting used for a bike project. So, just wait until they aren't looking and sneak their things into the garage for cutting up or destruction. I cut the bottom out of a brass planter, covered the hole with cardboard, and snuck it back into the house. No one was the wiser and I had a backing plate for my chain wheel.

UT-OH ! I' m telling mom !

My “fenders” arrived today, a lot sooner than I thought. They are just about an inch longer than the wheel. Hopefully I can adjust them to get the proper look.

I bought a plastic welder from Harbor freight and got both fenders together. They need some sanding but are close to done.

I also made a bracket to strengthen them and to mount them

While I was wandering around the lumberyard I found my chain guard and possibly a rear rack.

Looking good!

The fender reminds me of the 70's Chevy C10 step side trucks!

I couldn't resist seeing how it would look with a more squared opening and the wheels tucked.
Interesting but probably not the look that you're going for though. :)

Interesting look but I am not ready to get the saw out yet. I like that squared off shape but not the size of the opening. My first truck was an 1983 Chevy.

Fun build. I love it when builders use odd items to get the vibe they want.

The wheel covers are cool. Try getting an airbrush artist to paint some mag wheels on them.

Catching up...
That slab of marble is gonna be a heck of a chain guard! :21:

I ordered a bunch of parts from Worksman to replace the ones that were damaged during disassembly. They should be here in 10 days. I tried a mahogany stain on scrap birch. It’s about time to build a box.
