"We ask that participants not show up till the fest start time at 10:00am. That way we can get everything set up uninterrupted."

OK Randy, see ya at 7am! Just kidding, I couldn't get up that early on a Sunday anyway.

Re: 8th Annual Midwest Bicycle Fest (Ratrod Raffle Bike)

Nice double post there pick...too many beers? Ha ha. Just kidding!
Anyway, unfortunately I won't be able to make it to the Saturday night ride. I will be at the MWBF8 with the awesome 2nd and 3rd place Classic and Kustom ribbons my wife and mommy made. Those girls ROCK.
And if Dan wins another raffle bike, I'll be more than happy to hold onto it for him.

+1 Great job again this year guys! What a blast & the weather was fantastic! :D Congrats to all the winners this year! Voting this year was extremely difficult for me, just too many eligible candidates. I'm not sure I could have narrowed it down to 10.

THANK YOU to all the sponsors also!

Jeremy: You may have to add on to that house to display all these awards! Congrats 8)

Re: 8th Annual Midwest Bicycle Fest (Ratrod Raffle Bike)

I would have to say that the day was beautiful. The weather was perfect, the food was good, the show overall was awsome usual. I was looking forward to next years show as soon as I started loading my bikes into my truck. It takes alot to hold my 8 year olds attention for very long... We were there all 7 hours and she never once said she wanted to leave. So to speak for her I say "Job well done!"

Re: 8th Annual Midwest Bicycle Fest (Ratrod Raffle Bike)

We had a GREAT time.
Started with the Saturday night ride, a beautiful evening with around 55 cool bikes out riding the paths and streets of Haysville. We had people from Kansas City area, and Salina ( who made the 90 mile trip just for the evening ride). Many folks who lived along the route enjoyed the parade of bikes and wondered what was going on, ITS THE MIDWEST BIKE FEST. We stopped along the way and door prizes were awarded, and it ended at a burger place, complete with reserve parking for the bikes.

Then Sunday morning, another beautiful day, began with cramming bikes into the van, when we arrived at the festival, the place was hopping with bikes and people. I setup our bikes, and off to look at bikes and talk bikes. WOW, the number, and quality of the bikes were the best ever, IMO. A great time, was had by everyone, except for Mr. Larry who crashed hard on the skid mark competition demonstration, he deserves the award for most road rash, I bet he hurts more tomorrow. These guys here take the skid competition serious, with skids nearly half the length of a football field and blowing out tires. The save the baby competition was a big spectator draw watching these brave souls rescueing the baby from the gaint Frankenstien. The slow race was a first time for the fest event and was well received and was tough to go slow without using your brakes going down hill, I entered this event and was way to fast at going slow. Then the door prizes were given, yes I did win prizes, and the cool raffle bike drawings, and no I DID NOT win a bike, oh well. And then the parade of bikes to close the show. It was a Great time, a beautiful day, with lots of wonderful creative people. The worst part about this event is how fast the day goes, 5 to 6 hours go by in about 45 minutes it seems.

A huge THANK YOU goes out to aka_Locojoe and his family, and to 1962Ratfink for his raffle bike contribution and his grillmaster expertise, and to the many other volunteers, and contributors who put this Fabulous bike fest together. THANK YOU.

We had a GREAT time, The wife was very surprised when she won the Committe's Choice award, for her 1969 24" Sears Spider 5speed.
I was really surprised when you awarded me Judge's Choice--Ratrod, 1930s Colson Moto bike. I thank you all for these, now maybe she'll stop telling I need to sell all those rusting bikes. Looking forward to next year, She is already talking about a bike she want to design for that one.

Re: 8th Annual Midwest Bicycle Fest (Ratrod Raffle Bike)

Ok, I got all 131 pictures uploaded this morning. I gave my camera to my 12 year old daughter and told her to document everything. It lasted until the Save the Baby contest after lunch and then she was done. All the pics can be seen at http://www.facebook.com/udallcustombikes

A few pics from the Pre-Fest ride the night before.

Yours Truely

New way to pass the time this year was tossing tires over this telescoping pole. It had a crowd all day.

Skid Row
The ever exciting Skid Row Contest started off with a catastrophic "demo run" by Uncle Larry. Here he is just moments before he met with the sidewalk. (Only a little road rash to the elbow.)

I didn't get any pics past this so someone else will have to show the slow race, awards and prizes, and the parade ride.
