I actually asked a guy once what he was thinking. It wasn't as crazy as this sounds, but he wanted like $500 for a bike that was worth maybe $100. I told him what I thought the bike was worth. He said "yep, I know that, but not everyone does". I mean it's worth what someone is willing to pay and it only takes one uninformed soul to make a sale.
 
What's great is that on American Pickers they actually bought a 28" Elgin woodrim that was fully restored and rideable from an extremely knowledgeable old dude for 250.

Thanks for posting this thread, it makes me feel better about purchasing a 1948 Rollfast that's 85% stock and rideable for 80 beans...

Not complaing about a $50 price, but funny that American Pickers was mentioned in the ad.

I saw another craigslist add like that... 1962 schwinn, in decent shape, but not all original... And he wanted.... Wait for it....
$4,500.00 !!!
