Today I went at the stool again...
To fit the front wheel to it I made a kind of adapter plate out of some hardware from the diy store:
Marking and drilling first

Then some filing

And a little test fit

And cut

And another fit and some drilling again

The plate of the swivel wheel needs a notch to make way for the big screw

And the two 6mm screws need some shortening

Now I just needed to put all the pieces together...

And here it is:

There is only one problem now, the from this to high, so I probably need to mount either a smaller front wheel or bigger rear wheels. But for now it will do...

Sissy bar back rest?

I always thought I would enjoy being an elementary (that's grades up through 5th for us) teacher. I spent a lot of time as a single dad at my boy's school when they were growing up. They both had positive male role models as teachers and principal in those early years. I was fortunate to have the time to spend there, in that educational environment.

The past 5 years I have driven school bus in our district. Really enjoy the kids and hearing their stories. And sharing some of mine.

I liked your campground shop! Bike turned out well. Teaching gadgets are cool. Good luck with your school year, I was a public school teacher for 33 years. Some good memories from those years.

Just in time to our first bike training day with the 4th graders tomorrow, I got the last bits tweaked on my bike (added some grease and oil and found various loose nuts and bolts I had previously forgotten to tighten up).
So tomorrow will be the first real test on it's roadworthyness and maybe I can manage to shot some decent pics underway...

After two days of getting some kilometers on this bike, I must really say, I like it!
It rides smooth, the only sound you hear is the clicking of the torpedo hub in second or third gear (I absolutely love that sound), besides that no rattling, even on German copperhead roads...
I still need to make the lights work, but besides that it's done.

So for the final pics I gave the idea of going full circle a try and took some pictures down in the basement, where all the parts came from and where the first parts piled up...

But I will do some outdoor pics as well over the next days...

I like the idea of the basement shots. I'm not sure if it is the lighting or the camera, but the pics don't appear to be focused very well. Might have just been a dirty lens.

You're right, it's the weak light and my unsteady hand. I will take my tripod for the next try...

Mr Swiss, I really like the #5 photo from the first group. The angle, sitting right in the corner, the all white walls with the stark black of the bike, the light just hitting the chrome just right; to me that's your winner!

You`re talking about this one, right?

I see your point :) I will try to reshoot it with the camera on the tripod...

Hmmm, this one could be the one...

A bit more top down and frames the shifter nicely...

I like this top down angle. Still doesn't look quite focused though.

Yes it is...

Very pretty indeed, I have a similar one so I know it must rings quite loud and has a nice sound too. A bit like an old telephone.
With these chrome fenders I would like to see a photograph done with the flash on.
