Looks great in bare metal!
Thanks!!!!

I thought about clear coating the red patina, then thought of clear coating the bare metal….. I rode today earlier in a 4th of July parade…. I don’t have a red, white and blue bike for my 4th of July ride.

I definitely love the idea, but I’m sticking with the patriotic theme…. Also, the color scheme secretly goes with the name.

Love that frame. Gonna be fun seeing you paint vision come to life.

Ok y’all…. I’ve got a little trouble here figuring out how I’m going to upgrade my shifter cable housing.

I have the replacement housing….

Anyone know how tough it is to replace this tip before I cut it off to slide the cable housing on?

The tip is integral to the tension for the shifting mechanism.

I recently modified one and will be modifying one to fit my torpedo hub to the 333 Shimano twist grip. There is a sort of how-to that was posted about my experience, using shrink solder connectors to build up the tip, to hold the housing. Also something to have in your kit as a quick fix, solder can be melted with a lighter. There is also a kit that has a clamp mechanism that comes with it. Hope this helps some

I don't believe there is any standard or normal way of replacing that tip if you remove it. However, I am sure there are various ways of using some good old rat engineering to manufacture some sort of replacement linkage. Good luck.

So you are saying there are two 'ends', permanent tips to your old cable? What kind of shifter are you using? Most often there is one 'open' end that threads through the housing, and then gets clamped at the derailleur by a clamping bolt.

More photos of your shifting / drive train system would help me, Jude.
