Ratrods are Relative.

Ive been out of the game for a while due to limited garage space and time but happened upon this frameset over the summer and couldnt pass up on the color. The frame is used with a fair amount of chips and scratches so I’ll be giving it the Kintsugi (Golden Repair) treatment.

More to follow.

Greased up this spiffy 27.2 Kalloy seatpost only to find out the seat tube is 26.8.

Of course the only one I had in that size was this fancy forged Nitto S65. It was a swap meet score but...

I figured if that was going to be blinged out, I might was well use one of these Sugino Messenger cranks I'd been saving for a cool project. Of course it has a 1/8 chainring so I'm waiting on a new one.

Its a roller. Just need to get that chainring and then we can start with the do dads.

Ooooohhh! Ultra modern gears and retro look modern tires on that cool frame!

Couple of points. Will that short cage rear der handle all 42 teeth of that lowest gear? And, you will probably want no more than a 42t chainring combined with that cassette for prime gear ratios.

I'm with Matti ^^, it's turned up to 11! :inlove:

It wont. I must've grabbed the wrong box! That's a super short for a mini velo project :/

After weeks of waiting, looks like the chainring is almost here. I didn't realize it was shipped via carrier pigeon. Now I need to find that derailleur. Hope this ends in Nov and not October!
