Black crank dust caps do not suit this build I think. So I laminated the crank caps with aluminum tape.

I do have got a set of mirrors that fit on the end of the handlebar. Only the casing is black. Positioning the mirror similar to the brake is an interesting idea. For now, I keep it without mirrors. I like the look of the cockpit as it is now.

I tried out adding a rearview mirror. I find it too bulky for the narrow look of the bike. So this is a no-go.

Final assembly has begun! I'm using foam pipe insulation to protect the paint. And when the bike is fully assembled, it is a nice way of giving yourself a present to unwrap.

First coat of clear. The Humbrol paint I used for lining the lugs is not a fan of the clear varnish. Hope the bubbles will smooth out.

Yup, two layers of clear. Maybe after the build off I send it out to chrome.

Not much interesting to tell. I painted the third top layer and polished the sissy bar. I was planning to chrome it, only all the chrome shops I approached are not able to deliver on short notice.

Top layer round two. Had some trouble with a new spray can. Although it is the exact same color, it did show slightly different (more metallic). I had this problem one time before. I fixed it by warming the can in hot water. This way the viscosity becomes lower. That makes it easier to rattle...

Yesterday I painted the first top layer. The color turned out different, it is much browner than I was expecting. However, I will continue with this color. I just need to get used to it.
