    Bigger Springer

Has anyone ever seen or made a Schwinn springer fork larger than the 26" size? I have a 24" jumbo stingray with a 7" pedal crank instead of the usual 5 1/2". I'd like to add more clearance under the pedal and adding a springer meant for a 26" bike still doesn't bring it up as much as I would...

    Musselman hub question

Hi, I have a Western Flyer coaster brake hub which I believe was made by Musselman. It is not the skiptooth style. Strong brake but made moaning noise. When I opened it up I found the smallest bearing ring completely disintegrated. This is the outer one on the outside of the sprocket. I...

Classic Krate Fork vs. China Made

That's one sharp ride you've got there.

Classic Krate Fork vs. China Made

Oh absolutely. Not going for all original. Just a rider for the little fella. The chainguard was off a yellow Fair Lady, stripped then two coats of duplicolor.

Classic Krate Fork vs. China Made

My son has a '99 repro Apple frame built up with vintage and Chinese Krate parts. Came out nice but could use a little more height up front.

Classic Krate Fork vs. China Made

Is my observation correct? I've seen a few of the circa 2007 Made in China Schwinn Krates and they all seem to sit too low in the front. It looks like they use a 20" fork with the 16" wheel. Didn't the classic Krates of the 60's/70's use a 24" fork to compensate for the smaller front tire?

    Factory 24" muscle bikes

Ok here is a shot of my 24" Typhoon. Notice the seat is removed from its frame waiting for padding. http://i279.photobucket.com/albums/kk15 ... dd7c90.jpg

    Factory 24" muscle bikes

I've recently put together a 24" Schwinn Typhoon with 16" handlebars, 24 X 2.125 Jerald Sulky slick in rear, 24 X 1.75 brick tread in front, banana seat, Bendix Red Band coaster brake hub on a recent Huffy rim. I used a crank from a 26" bike and used a front fork from a 27" Schwinn Collegiate...

Hey all, can a later model four piece set of Bendix 76 brake shoes be used in a earlier RB2 hub? Thanks!!

    shocking a sissy

I'm trying to install a spring shock kit on an older sissy bar. The sissy bar I have is 24" total and 20" from seat hole down to bottom. It seems kind of short. Does anyone know the exact measurements for an original Schwinn shock sissy bar used with the shock? thanks.

    Rustoleum Prime & paint

Thanks for the eye opener!! You all just saved me from wasting a bunch of time. I wonder if Duplicolor has a decent coppertone look alike?

    Rustoleum Prime & paint

Hi - does anyone have any opinion on the metallic Rustoleum prime & paint all in one can? Thinking about painting my 67 Typhoon gold. It's a jumbo 24" stingray wannabee. Doesn't have to be show quality. Thanks.

    Dupli Color

I used it to match an old chainguard for my son's '99 Apple Krate. One light coat and then a heavier wet coat over a white base did the trick. I did notice each coat makes it much darker. (Took me four tries to get it right)

    RB2 adjustment?

Thanks, I'll try a set of new shoes in the hub.
