    i made me a seat

I ran all over town today trying to find a piece of white leather to recover an old Vetta that's going on a road bike. I usually hit the thrift stores and use skirts because the thin leather conforms nicely to the curves (and when I glue it to the saddle too  ) I use cabinet grade contact...

    I hate Billy Mays

Yep, "Vince" makes me gag too, he's a world class bozo. Pretty much anyone wearing one of those phone/microphone/headset things is just begging to have it smacked off. Do you hear me Garth Brooks?

    Two wheel drive Schwinn

I spotted this rig at the flea market this morning, it's a Schwinn Sierra outfitted with a 2wd system and a 2 wheel resistance training stand. It had a nice pair of Sturmey drum brake hubs that caught my eye, and might have been worth haggling for. The seller was evasive about the price, which...

    1969 SCHWINN TWINN

I don't know, Tim Gunn didn't seem too thrilled: Great looking Twinn by the way!!

    Fun with Centurions

Nice stuff! I know that Centurian made some very nice bikes, but I've yet to find one locally with a paint scheme that didn't offend. On the other hand, they would be a fitting platform to showcase my vintage neon Wham! t-shirt and knitted leg warmers.

    Bike The Vote !!!

We had long lines for the first week of early voting until they extended the hours and ironed out the bugs, then it mellowed out. Today was smooth sailing!

    Bike The Vote !!!

That's a great idea here too, since polling places are usually within a few miles for most folks. Get out the rat rod vote!

Wish me luck - Motherload!!! (update:11/02)

Wow, scary stuff, I hope I don't end up like that... At least you didn't end up down in the pit (...it puts the lotion in the basket...)

    Why I love estate sales

I also got this cool folding brass and wood ruler which is very nicely machined, but does not have a manufacturer's stamp. It certainly looks old.

    Why I love estate sales

I stopped at an estate sale during my Saturday morning garage sale cruise and found some nice goodies. No bikes to be found, but I thought this aluminum box would look good on the rear rack of one of my bikes and it was full of stuff, so I forked over $5.00 for it. One of the guys running the...

    Haro 24" BMX cruiser

I've finally got around to repainting a BMX cruiser that I picked up a while back. The paint scheme was inspired by this old cruiser that was posted here (I forget whose bike this is  ) I used satin finish in navy and black, the original paint was yellow and in bad shape. I added the...

    Dutch beachview

Re: Warhammer online gold At least the idiot spammer brought this thread back to life. To respond to Boris, no I'm more of a surfer and windsurfer. I've kitesurfed a few times, but the potential to get seriously hurt is more than my health insurance will bear

    My freshly rebuilt German racer

No, I don't think there's any connection to the cigarette company, and it wouldn't surprise me if ours were from two different manufacturers. The friend that gave it to me doesn't know much about it either, I think he picked it up at a yard sale.

    My freshly rebuilt German racer

Hmm, they don't seem too dissimilar to my untrained eye, apart from the headbadge and minor variation in the lugs. I'm cleaning mine up for sale this week, I'll get some more pics up when it's ready to roll.

    My freshly rebuilt German racer

This is the only one I've ever seen, it looks to be late 70's or so, and not very well made but solid. Another one turned up on Bikeforum.net today, but it's a bit different. Here are some more pics:

    Dutch beachview

This is a cool thread, it's always interesting to learn about industry from the people who have been there... It's also cool to see traction kites on both beaches! 8)

    My freshly rebuilt German racer

That must be the German cousin of this "Camel" that a friend gave me: I can't figure out where this was made, but most of the components are Japanese. Definitely not hand made though...

Re: $20 CL find....24" Murray? I don't recognize it, but it's really cool! I'd leave it just as it is... Great score!
