This mornings MONGOOSE / RED LINE find!!

Nice find. Is it chromo or aluminum? I had that same frame in chromo when I was about 14. I paid for it with paper route money and then my parents would not let me race. Last week I bought a Supergoose Pro Cruiser on CL. So at 41 years old I will finally hit the track on my Mongoose...with my...

HEADSET TROUBLE - 50s JC HIGGINS

"I have that exact frame. I believe you need a 1 1/8" to 1" reducer that fits on the upper and lower headtube to allow a 1" steer tube to fit." This has been my experience as well. I still needed to run the 1" fork, the 1 1/8" had clearance issues within the headtube. 62H

    Big Wheel Build

The rear wheels will get replaced with some 8" inflatable jobs with bearings or possibly go kart wheels with slicks, but they require 5/8" bore to affix and this thing came with 1/2", so it needs a mod or two.

    Big Wheel Build

Now that I have some pix up I have some questions for you guys. This big wheel that I bought has about a 63 degree headtube angle on it. That seems a little too chopperish for high speeds to me, what do you guys think? I was thinking more like a MTB or roadbike head angle for a speed demon...

    Big Wheel Build

Until now all my "builds" have been nothing more than bolt on goodies and sometimes paint... Today the mighty Rigid cordless reciprocating saw joined the build team. The headtube will be cut between the top and down tubes, leaving a 3 1/2" long headtube, which will get a 1" threadless...

    Metal Supermarkets

Have any of you guys dealt with Metal Supermarkets to obtain tubing? We have one nearby and I have never been there, but I need tubing for the frame mods of the big wheel project. I wonder how large a quantity of stuff they make you buy. And does any one know the dimension of the tubing I will...

    Looking for a 20" Fork

I am looking for a fork for a 20" wheel, needs to have the following specs: 1" steer tube, 170 mm steer tube length, needs canti posts so I can use V brakes on it. I prefer threaded, but a threadless is acceptable if that's all I can find. Does any body have anything that fits the bill...

Never too old for a Big Wheel

Pics of the new acquisition: and the California Chariot we picked up last fall for $5 With a combined $35 invested I think we can come up with some big time fun for small time ca$h. I want to put a 20" fork with V brakes and my SPIN three spoke front wheel on the Chariot. It will also get...
