    Schwinn Meteor??

Somebody is selling a 1950's Schwinn Meteor in my area, but has no pictures. I've been searching all over online and can't find much on this bike. Anyone have pics or any info?

    How to videos

Cool! Love that Canadian bike overhaul. I'm a big fan of the Super Mario Bros. theme orchestral style. Great vids!

    Newbie from Massachusetts

Cool dude. I'm a big fan of the Red hook! If you've never been to the brewery up in Portsmouth, you should check it out. I just brewed and IPA today that should hopefully be in the 6-7% range. Lately I've been feeling like I should drink less, so I've just been making stronger beers to compensate.

    It begins!!

I'm definitely thinking about masking the spokes. It sounds like too much work to take the wheel apart, and I'm too inexperienced at this stage of the game. If the paint peels, there's always the touch up paint route. I've actually got the bike all put together, just need pedals and its ready...

    It begins!!

So I ended up at my LBS to get some pedals which they didn't have. Before I knew it, I was leaving with a rear wheel w/ coaster brake in my hand. I asked about painting the rims and they guy told me that I should take the spokes off easing the tension a little at a time all the way around, until...

    It begins!!

I did check the serial # and it looks to be a 96 Schwinn super deluxe. There's still plastic over the head badge which has preserved it over the years. Right now I'm trying to figure out if I want to dismantle the 20 coaster brake and put it on a 26" wheel. I don't think I'm ready for lacing a...

    compressor vs. cans

What exactly is a spray bomb? I picture a closed of area with some sort of paint explosive that covers everything with paint.

    compressor vs. cans

I was thinking about getting my dad a spray gun for his air compressor (so I could use it to paint bikes ofcourse). I was wondering if there are any advantages over cans. I figure clean up is one disadvantage.

    "SCHWINIDAN" now RIDEABLE

Awesome!! I just have one question. What's the deal with the upsidown handlebars? It seems allot of people are doing that these days, but it looks so uncomfortable. I'm not a big fan of sacrificing comfort for looks I guess. Still, an amazing looking bike!

    a great video

I"m not really into these shows either, but it's nice to see some raw talent emurge that would have otherwise gone unknown. It seems that playing lousy top 40 music for the drunken masses is where the $ is these days.

    DIY bottle opener

Holy crap that's cool! Even better that your wife cleaned out the garage while you had fun making a bottle opener.

    It begins!!

There's definitely some old looking fenders in that pile. I haven't had a chance to pull them all apart, but I was told that there were some old schwinns packed in there. The tricycle is way cool too. I found out it's a 1940's Colson built in Ohio. Hopefully I can sell some of this stuff and get...

what kind of brake is this?

well I'm an idiot... I realized that the sprocket is only used as the brake and to crank the wheel, and the bolt going through it is the coaster. Thanks for not pointing out my stupidity with this stuff. I"m going to go smoke some more crack now.

what kind of brake is this?

I just obtained a set of bmx 20" troxel wheels made in 1984 and I"m wondering if the rear brake is shot. It seems to lock when the sproket is rotated back and forth with a little bit of play in between. Could this be a direct gear hub? Is there a common type of brake on the old bmx bikes?

    It begins!!

I picked up a bunch of parts today off of craigslist for 75 bucks. Included was a murray monterey and a schwinn frame. Also some really cool rear rack "thingy's" and a set of ape hangers. Can't wait to figure out how to put all this stuff together, and I'm sure there will be many questions to...
